FAQ
Can I use regular flour instead of gluten‑free?
Yes! A standard all‑purpose flour works perfectly. The texture will be very similar.
Can I swap the cheddar for another cheese?
Absolutely. Mild cheddar gives the classic Goldfish flavor, but you can use sharp cheddar, Colby Jack, or even mozzarella for a milder taste.
Do I need a goldfish‑shaped cutter?
Nope — any small cookie cutter works. You can even cut the dough into tiny squares for “pizza Cheez‑It” vibes.
How do I keep them crispy?
Store them in an airtight container. If they soften, pop them in the air fryer for 2–3 minutes to re‑crisp.
Can I freeze the dough?
Yes! Freeze the dough tightly wrapped for up to 2 months. Thaw in the fridge, roll out, and bake as usual.
How long do homemade Goldfish last?
They stay fresh for about 4–5 days in an airtight container.
