It tastes incredibly rich and decadent
I made it completely gluten free, with a boost of protein, and free from refined sugars!

With a rich and fudgey cheesecake filling, and dark chocolate chips galore, this is a chocolate lovers dream come true!
Why You’ll Love This Death by Chocolate Cheese Ball
- It’s completely no bake
- It’s easy to whip up last minute
- It’s sure to impress all the chocolate lovers in your life
- I kept it lower sugar by using powdered monkfruit, and dark chocolate chips
- It’s got a boost of protein
- It’s great for dipping apples, strawberries, pretzels, or graham crackers, but it’s just as delicious by the spoonful!

Ingredients
- 12 oz organic cream cheese, softened – I used Nancy’s organic Probiotic rich cream cheese
- 1/2 cup cashew butter – I like artisana organics brand
- 1/3 cup powdered monkfruit sweetener (Lakanto), or organic powdered sugar
- 1/3 cup chocolate protein powder – Just Ingredients is my favorite brand. Clean ingredients and nothing artificial or added gums. Use code colleenF10 to save!
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup mini chocolate chips – I like Pascha brand 70% dark chocolate stevia sweetened, or their 85% dark chocolate
- For coating
- Dark chocolate chips
- Homemade candy eyes – simply melt white chocolate, use a syringe to dollop a circle-full onto parchment paper, place a mini chocolate chip in the center, and freeze until firm, just a few minutes. I keep a batch in the freezer for the holiday season!
- 2 white chocolate chips – I like Pascha organic vegan white chocolate
- And a gluten free Oreo type cookie for the ears! – I used Goodie Girl gluten free cookies

How to Make Death by Chocolate Cheese Ball
- Use a hand mixer to whip your cream cheese and cashew butter together until smooth
- Add remaining ingredients and whip again
- Fold in 1/3 cup mini dark chocolate chips
- Place in plastic wrap or beeswax wrap and shape into a sphere, and place in the freezer for 30 min to hold shape
- Once firm, remove from wrap, smooth out shape with a spatula, and cover in dark chocolate chips, leaving room for eyes, two white chocolate chips for the teeth, and half a chocolate cookie for each ear!
- Serve with gluten free pretzels, graham crackers, apple slices, strawberries, etc!

I love how easy it to just add all of the filling ingredients to a bowl, mix, and freeze!
Variations for Dietary Preferences
- Cream Cheese- a vegan cream cheese will work fine here, too!
- Chocolate protein powder – if you don’t want to use protein powder you’ll want to up the cocoa powder to 1/4 cup, and add 2 tbsp extra of powdered sugar
- Powdered monkfruit – you can use organic powdered sugar, but it does need to be powdered versus granular or the texture won’t hold up
- Cashew butter – you can sub with ghee, or softened butter. You could also use sun butter, or peanut butter if you’d prefer a chocolate peanut butter cup flavor
