Ingredients in a fast food Shamrock Rock

  • Vanilla Soft Serve – Milk, Sugar, Cream, Corn syrup, Natural flavor, Mono and diglycerides, Cellulose gum, Guar gum, Carrageenan, and Vitamin A Palmitate
  • Mint Syrup – High fructose corn syrup, Corn syrup, Water, Glycerin, Natural flavor, Xanthan gum, Citric acid, Sodium benzoate (preservative), Yellow 5, and Blue 1.

If you’ve ever wondered why you feel like crap afterward, I can assure you it definitely had something to do with the gums (known to upset the stomach), artificial dyes, multiple forms of sugar, and carrageenan, a known carcinogen and disrupts the GI tract.

Anyway, that’s a huge difference from the homemade shake I’m sharing today!

Ingredients

1 cup frozen coconut cream frozen into cubes
2 scoops Kachava Matcha all-in-one nutrition shake
3/4 cup vanilla almond milk or milk of choice
2 tbsp pure maple syrup or honey
2 tsp mint extract, or 2-3 fresh mint leaves
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 pinch matcha powder or all natural green natural for deeper green

Process

  • For thicker shake freeze coconut cream in a silicone mini muffin pan or ice cube tray. This will add thickness like a traditional milkshake without needing ice or ice cream
    -once frozen, blend all shake ingredients together until smooth, scraping the sides as need be
    Pour into a glass, top with whipped cream, and a classic cherry, and enjoy!

I love how easy it to just add all of the filling ingredients to a blender, mix, and pour!

Variations for Dietary Preferences

  • Kachava Matcha Protein – you can also use vanilla protein here and add 1-2 tsp of fresh matcha powder
  • Mint– feel free to omit for a sweeter vanilla/matcha shake
  • Coconut cream – feel free to use vanilla ice cream for that traditional milkshake (I like Nadamoo for vegan or Alden’s Organic- both made with clean ingredients and still make this way better for you than a fast food shake!)
