Monster Cookie Cottage Cheese Mousse
This Monster Cookie Cottage Cheese Mousse is packed with protein! It’s thick, creamy, rich, and makes you “mmmm” with every bite!
It’s gluten free and naturally sweetened. I garnished the chocolate protein mousse with a creamy chocolate ganache, crushed (dye-free) chocolate gems, and mini monster cookie dough bites!
Every bite felt like such an indulgence! I used my favorite high quality and clean ingredient chocolate protein powder in the base from Just Ingredients. No artificial flavors, gums, or questionable ingredients. Use code ColleenF10 to save sitewide on all her delicious protein powders, electrolytes, and high quality supplements she has to offer!

Don’t they just look fun to eat?! I love a pop of color, but artificial dyes are NOT something I can get down with.
I used Unreal Snacks dye-free chocolate gems. You can find them at many grocery stores, or snag them HERE
Why You’ll Love This Monster Cookie Cottage Cheese Mousse
- It’s packed with protein, and healthy fats, making it a great grab and go breakfast, or an afternoon sweet tooth fix that won’t spike your blood sugar
- It’s made with high quality ingredients, including organic cottage cheese, pure maple syrup, and 100% grass fed whey protein
- It satisfies your sweet tooth
- You feel like you’re indulging in dessert, while hitting your macronutrient goals, too!
Key Ingredients for this Cookie Dough Cottage Cheese Mousse
- Cottage Cheese – it does not matter if you like cottage cheese or not! Once blended until smooth the chunky texture is gone. When blended with a fat source, like the nut butter, and the added thickness from the protein powder, this mousse gets incredibly thick and creamy, and thickens even more overnight! Use full fat for the creamiest ice cream texture
- Peanut butter – adds to the creaminess while adding a cookie monster taste. Almond butter will also work
- Chocolate Protein Powder – the flavor is unbelievable! It tastes so smooth and creamy, and adds a boost of protein as well as delicious flavor. My code colleenF10 saves you sitewide off my favorite clean ingredient protein powder from Just Ingredients
- Pure maple syrup – adds sweet without adding refined table sugar. Pure maple syrup (not pancake syrup) is lower glycemic index than white sugar, so it’s easier on your blood sugar

How to Make Monster Cookie Cottage Cheese Mousse
- Blend cottage cheese ingredients together until smooth, scraping the sides as needed
- Optionally, fill the bottoms of your storage jars (6oz I find work best) with crushed gluten free cookies (I like Simple Mills) and/or crushed chocolate gems (Unreal Snacks for dye-free)
- Pour cottage cheese mousse overtop
- Refrigerate at least a few hours, or overnight for optimal thick texture
- Melt peanut butter & chocolate together for 30-45 seconds until smooth, then pour overtop mousse, and sprinkle with chocolate chips
- Mix cookie dough ingredients together, roll into balls, add to mousse, and enjoy!

I love how easy it to just add all of the filling ingredients to a blender, mix, and pour!
All of the toppings and mix-ins are optional! Of course omit the cookie crumbles for a lower calorie option. You can also just add a few crushed chocolate gems or dark chocolate chips on top in place of the ganache
Variations for Dietary Preferences
- Cottage Cheese – while this is the base of the recipe, you can make a thick and creamy vegan mousse by using coconut cream and a plant based protein powder
- Chocolate protein powder – you can omit this and simply add 2 tbsp of cocoa powder for the chocolate taste
- Peanut butter – you can sub for almond butter or any nut butter of choice
- Medjool date syrup – can easily be subbed for maple syrup or sugar free syrup
- Peanut butter for the ganache – swap for coconut cream and double the chocolate. Still melt together until smooth, about 30-45 seconds
- Vanilla protein powder for cookie dough – feel free to use a whey based or plant protein powder. Or, use oat flour for a similar texture

I’m sure this Monster Cookie Cottage Cheese Mousse will satisfy your cravings and have you wishing you made more!
