This sparkling blueberry lemonade is incredibly refreshing on a hot summers day!

It’s made with an easy homemade blueberry simple syrup, no sugar added lemonade, and probiotic sparkling “soda.” No, not a high fructose corn syrup filled soda; one that’s actually good for us!

Even better? You can make the blueberry simple syrup ahead of time and keep it on hand for all kinds of drinks! Such as blueberry margaritas, blueberry mojito, more blueberry lemonades, or even use the syrup on some scooped up snow this winter for a homemade snow cone!

Why You’ll Love This Sparkling Blueberry Lemonade

  • It’s made with just a few simple ingredients
  • It’s low sugar! Compared to other recipes that use Sprite, Frozen Lemonade Concentrate (more high fructose corn syrup), table sugar, and sometimes even blue dye for the blueberry syrup – yuck!
  • The homemade blueberry simple syrup can be saved and used for many other beverages
  • The kids absolutely love this one

Key Ingredients

  • No Sugar Added Lemonade – You can easily make your own lemonade using water, sweetener of choice (honey, organic cane sugar, granular monkfruit), but I personally love Uncle Matt’s Organic Brand! They use organic ingredients and sweeten with pure monkfruit! They’re available at Sprouts, Whole Foods, their juice boxes on Amazon, and more
  • Sparkling Prebiotic Soda – I like the lemon lime Olipop brand. If you haven’t heard of it, Olipop is basically a healthy version of sprite. It’s got no high fructose corn syrup, and it’s got a nourishing ingredient list. It comes in a ton of delicious flavors
  • Blueberries – needed to make the homemade blueberry simple syrup (yes you can follow this same recipe to make a Sparkling Strawberry Lemonade, Mango, Cherry, etc!)
  • Granular Monkfruit – you need a sweetener to dissolve into the water and help thicken into a syrup. You can also use honey or organic cane sugar

How to Make Sparkling Blueberry Lemonade

  • First, make your blueberry simple syrup. You can do this ahead of time, as it will need to cool completely before you make your lemonade
  • Bring 1 cup filtered water & 3/4 cup granular monkfruit (or organic cane sugar or honey) together on the stovetop over medium heat
  • Once boiling, add 1 cup blueberries, and give it 5 more minutes, stirring every minute or two, for the blueberries to release their juices
  • Strain through a fine mesh strainer into a jar and set aside to cool
  • At this point, you can store your homemade simple syrup in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 months
  • Once your syrup is cool, pour into the bottom of a glass, add ice, then your no sugar added lemonade, a handful of blueberries, and top with your prebiotic soda or sparkling water
  • Garnish with fresh lemon and mint and enjoy!

The homemade simple syrup does take a few extra steps, but it is SO tasty, and I love that there are no added gums or weird additives!

I am absolutely going to try a homemade strawberry simple syrup next!

If you give this sparkling blueberry lemonade a try I would love if you could leave a comment sharing your thoughts! And let me know which flavor lemonade I should try next!
